Update: River adventure benefits Team Dream Project

Join Team Dream on May 2, 2009 for the "Lung Cancer Needs a Paddling" river adventure. We will kayak and canoe down the Chattahoochee River, enjoying Atlanta's lovely spring weather and have a picnic lunch by the riverside.

All proceeds from the river adventure will, of course, go to the National Lung Cancer Partnership through the Team Dream project.

Click to register or for more information. Lunch and canoes and kayaks will be provided, or bring your own boat and get a discount on your registration. Sign up soon--registration closes April 15, 2009. Walk-up registration on the day of the event will NOT be permitted unless you have your own boat and space permits.

See you there!

Update: Team Dream gains first Bronze Sponsor!

A very big thank you to Chuck Gabriel and The Gabriel Law Firm, P.C. for his generous donation of $1,000 to the Team Dream project. With this donation, Chuck has become Team Dream's very first Bronze Sponsor. Chuck, you rock!

Update: Team Dream Ride Postponed until Spring 2010

NOTE: The Team Dream ride has been postponed to Spring 2010 due to circumstances beyond our control. But we're still training, still fundraising, and still committed to killing lung cancer! We've raised over $20,000 so far and still going strong. Click to donate or see who else has donated.

Team Dream 2009 Logo Unveiled

Team Dream 2009 has been busy designing our logo to help promote our project and and next year's ride across the USA. Look for the logo at events, on correspondence, and maybe even on our bike shirts next year! We hope that it will become an easily recognizable symbol to remind our friends and supporters of this great cause.

Amy and Marsha ride Beautiful Backroads

On September 20, 2008, Amy and Marsha rode the Beautiful Backroads Century Ride in and around Cartersville, GA. The ride certainly lived up to its name, as we spun over hills, through valleys, and past stunning vistas. Marsha rode the metric century (about 66 mi.) and Amy rode the full century (102 miles--there's a story there). It was great training for next year's Team Dream 2009, when we will ride a total of 7 century days (over 100 miles each).

In other TD09 news, we have selected a ride logo and will be posting it in this space soon. Hopefully it will look as good on our Team Dream 2009 tattoos as it does on the website. (This is a hint to all TD09 riders: start thinking about the placement of your tattoo!)

Update: Spiegel Rides 80 Miles in the Covington Century

Team Dream member Mark Spiegel continued his training for the Big Ride by participating in the Covington Century ride the first weekend in August. Even though temperatures hovered close to the 100-degree level, Mark pushed on to complete 80 miles under very difficult conditions. Go Mark, go!

The members of TD09 continue to train hard for next summer's ride. Amy is planning to do the Beautiful Backroads Century ride in Cartersville, GA on September 20, and she's still trying to talk other members of TD09, or anybody else for that matter, into doing this ride with her.
